This is the story of a shirt…
Part 1
This week’s feature shirt is the Kelly Green Family Crest shirt.
Our family crest was a group effort. We did research on what symbols really meant on family crests. Here is what we came up with. The bear means “fiercely protective of one’s family.” We really emphasize supporting and taking care of one another like a family, even if you aren’t blood. The anchor stands for hope. We all need a little hope in our lives. We included the microphone as a symbol of how much music means in our lives. And, finally, the Othello logo crown. Because really, we are all an Othello Family.
Why green? We printed these in green around St. Patrick’s day, and to appeal to a Boston crowd at Warped Tour. This was a one time pressing, so what you see is what you get. These will never be made again! And, they are limited in sizes.
This shirt will be on sale for $10 for this week only. Let’s sell em all, and make room for new designs!

Here’s a little story…

Seven years ago, Russ and I were part of another clothing line, called ThreeStarRock. At the end of the Warped Tour of 2005, we formally disbanded the line. Our third partner kept all of the physical merchandies, around 300 shirts. Well, I got a call from him and he needs space in his basement, and is finally giving them over to us. I can’t wait to show you guys what we find. It’s gonna be an adventure!

We are back in action!

First of all, we would like to thank everyone that donated and helped make the summer line a reality. We made our goal, and the summer line (well most of it) has been printed and will be available for sale shortly.

As far as Warped goes, we did not make it. It was very hard to not do WT, but in the end, it was wither hit the road or print the line. We felt that it was more important to put new items out for you than to fulfill our need to tour.

What does this mean? It means we are BACK and ready for action. We will be consistantly be creating new items. We will be rebranding and reorganizing our business. We will also be back on social networks, hanging out with our fave internet people.

We know we let some of you down this summer with not being on the tour. Our fear was losing money, and not being able to continue on at all.

Fall is going to be exciting! We are putting out our first ad campaign and really building our online presence. We also have talks with a few national bands for sponsorship that I know will be awesome for everyone. As soon as we can release that info we will.

So, did you miss us?

This is a link to a tour that will be happening this spring. Please check it out, and suggest a great local band. Band members: give your fellow rockers a shout out and nominate someone.

Stoked to see my art used in the latest Bud Plant catalog. I’ve been ordering books from them for over 10 years. Sadly they don’t carry my book but to see my work used as the example for the Kustom Graphics 2 book ain’t so bad. That’s me - listed as an “Other”. Just like in LOST.
Oy I’m a dork…

Creating the BAD CD collection

While discussing the most recent CDs we have all purchased, we realized that so many of us have bought CDs that we bad. We all own them. Don’t pretend you don’t. So, since we just bought new CD shelving for the office, we want to create the worst CD collection ever. Send us your bad CDs, and get 20% off at www.othelloind.com with a coupon code. We will also document who sent what. I truly hope this gets ridiculous!

Shamless Promotion…

We didn’t write any year end lists. And, it being the 6th, it seems a bit late. So, instead we decided to make a list of our biggest fans and give you guys a thanks!

Scott Y. - we think you are awesome. Thanks for the support.

Taylor - I feel nothing gets done unless you are around.

Cervantes - thanks for being our first customer ever online. No one will ever be able to take that from you. We are stoked to have you on board for the summer.

Cam A. - stop gambling and buy more gear. Hehehe

Jake J. - our number one fan. We feel lucky to have you. Can’t wait to hang this summer.

(MFed) - being local you get the advantage of getting items not even for sale. That’s pretty bitchin.

Tiffany and Lee Barratt - you guys have been great supporters from the get-go, and we feel lucky to have you as part of our lives.

Oceans Over Airplanes - we love you guys, and appreciate the undying support you have for us. Can’t wait to release this album!

Tip the Van - it feels like we have known you guys forever, and we hope we do!

There’s the short list, but really everyone of you could be on there. I also want to point out that I compiled this list from memory. That’s how much ya’ll mean to us.

A brief update

Thanks for hanging in there guys. We have been quiet for a few weeks for a lot of reasons. So, here is a breakdown of what we have been up to.

1. We are going to be hard at work in the new year creating new designs. We have pages of ideas hanging out at the office. We are always up for suggestion as well. Let us know what you want. Also, we are planning a print ad campaign, photo shoots, and guerrilla marketing tactics for the spring. Keep an eye out, we may show up in your neck of the woods.

2. The band we manage, Oceans Over Airplanes, will be releasing their full length album at the end of January. We have been spending many hours working on the release and designing the album. We hope you all buy it and love it.

3. We are planning Warped Tour dates for this summer. Yes, we will be out. No, it will not be the entire tour (as of now). We are also talking to Zumies and other stores about national distribution. We had thought about setting up at the Bamboozle, but have decided not to do it. Instead, we will be there, handing out free shirts, stickers, cds, and fliers. See you there! More info coming on all of this soon.

4. We are working on recruiting summer interns. Please hit us up if you are interested. The guidelines have tightened a bit, so ask us what’s up.

5. And the last, lamest reason we have been quiet, is because I work in retail. These last couple of weeks have absolutely drained me.

So, stay tuned, and hit us up!
